Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

Festivin is a small independent publication. This page explains what data we collect when you visit https://festivin.com, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to stop.

The short version

We don't sell your data. We don't build profiles. We use one analytics tool to know how many people read each essay, and a newsletter tool to send you one letter a month if you subscribe. That's it.

What we collect

When you just read

Our host keeps standard server logs: the page you visited, your approximate location (via IP, not street address), your browser, and the referring site. These logs are auto-rotated and typically discarded within 30 days. We use them to diagnose errors and spot abuse.

When you subscribe to the letter

If you enter your email in any of the newsletter forms on https://festivin.com, it gets sent to our email provider. We store your email address, the date you subscribed, the page you subscribed from, and whether you've opened past letters. Every letter has an unsubscribe link in the footer.

When you leave a comment

We store your name, email address, and the content of your comment, plus the date and your IP address (for spam detection). Your email is never displayed publicly.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the list.

Third parties

The only third parties that see data from this site are: our host (server logs), our CDN (edge caching and DDoS protection), our email provider (your subscription if you subscribed), and, occasionally, embedded content. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any ad network.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you everything we have on you, correct anything wrong, or delete it entirely. Email contact@festivin.com and we'll reply within a week.
